Responding to disclosures of sexual assault
An appropriate response to a person’s first disclosure of Sexual Assault is essential to their recovery from the trauma.
This is an introductory workshop, essential for professionals and students in health, education, legal, welfare and community sectors where some-one may disclose sexual assault. The interactive workshop examines the definition of sexual assault and how the myths, dynamics and the impact of the trauma contribute to the silencing of victim/survivors of all ages.
Strategies for responding to a disclosure, professional responsibilities and self care techniques are explored.
Completion of this workshop, or an equivalent, is required for participation in other LC CASA workshops.
