An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Counsellor to join a supportive team at the Northern Centre against Sexual Assault

NCASA is a department of Austin Health and is one of 14 Centres against Sexual Assault in Victoria providing sexual assault trauma counselling to victims of recent or past sexual assault.

A fixed term .6 position with a focus on individual counselling, crisis care response and participation in the intake system is available from early January - end of June 2018
Applicants need to have:

  • A degree in Social Work or Psychology or an approved qualification in a relevant, related, psychotherapeutic discipline and membership with PACFA / ACA
  • An understanding of the nature and impact of sexual assault on men, women and children.
  • Postgraduate counselling experience including working therapeutically with adults and young people who have been affected by sexual assault.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse groups including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities and refugee/migrant communities
