Working with children who have experienced sexual assault
This workshop is for professionals and students in health, childcare, welfare and community sectors working with children who have been sexually assaulted, or who may disclose sexual assault.
Young children often disclose to someone other than a family member so an appropriate response to the child is essential.
The impact of trauma on the developing brain is examined and specific strategies for working with traumatized children are practiced throughout the two day interactive workshop.
Prior completion of Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Assault: Introduction, or an equivalent, is required for participation in this workshop.
When: Thursday 4 May & Friday 5 May, 2017. 9.30am - 4.00pm
Venue: Golden City Support Services, Level 2, 48 Mundy St Bendigo
Cost: Paid workers $180. Unpaid workers $120
