Loddon Campaspe CASA is running a series of workshops providing professional training about appropriate response to disclosures of sexual assault, child sexual behaviours and sexually abusive behaviours in adolescents.

CASA House delivers two one-day training workshops each semester.
Responding to Sexual Assault: Level 1
Tuesday, 28 August, 2012 in Melbourne CBD.
The workshop will assist those working with victim/survivors of sexual assault who have not had the opportunity to access training previously. It is also suitable for students. This interactive workshop encourages participants to examine the nature and consequences of sexual assault, including common community attitudes and beliefs, and to develop an understanding of the key issues relevant to providing effective support, including initiating conversations with clients about sexual assault and responding to disclosure. Participants will be provided with information relating to appropriate referral options and the supports available for those working with victim/survivors of sexual assault.
Responding to Sexual Assault: Level 2
Tuesday, 23 October, 2012 Melbourne CBD.
This interactive workshop extends the skills and confidence of those working with adults victim/survivors of sexual assault. The program focuses on contemporary biopsychosocial understandings about trauma and post-traumatic stress responses and issues for adult victim/survivors of child sexual assault. The workshop is structured to enhance skills and techniques for responding to people in crisis because of sexual assault. Time is taken to consider vicarious trauma and self-care for workers. Completion of Responding to Sexual Assault - Level 1 is a prerequisite for attending Level 2.**
Cost per workshop $130 per person per workshop or $70 for students.
